A vibrant local music scene is evidence of a Valencian musical tradition that goes back centuries, a passion that has been passed from generation to generation. Valencians are brought up with music in their blood.

If fire is the number one element of the festivals of Valencia, then the musical soundtrack comes a very close second: music is an integral part of the culture and character of the people.

But, music is not only confined to the festivals. Valencia has a variety of concert halls, auditoriums and smaller venues where all kinds of musical styles can be enjoyed throughout the year. From large concert halls to intimate jazz clubs, from classical to flamenco.

Standing out amongst the city's concert halls and theatres is the Palau de la Música, emblematic and synonymous with the interest in music of Valencians. An interest that will soon be boosted with the opening of the Palau de les Arts, located in the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia.
